: : I was wondering what type of palming technique is used when a magician shows the front of his hand empty then prodeeds to reveal between ten and twenty cards, either one at a time, or in fans of about five cards. Lance Burton did this in his special last year during the whole sleight of hand routine. I have tried to duplicate it by using the backpalm but I can not backpalm more than about 5 cards. What is the name of this palming technique and where can I go to learn more about it?? Thanks.

: With practice you can get more than 5 cards.. A lot of people use manipulation cards which are thinner and more flexible, but even with those it takes a lot of practice. They also usually have a back color that blends in with your hand better than normal cards, but the only ones I've seen sold are also bridge size and not poker size. I think Jeff McBride uses Bee cards, and he describes how he breaks in new cards to make them more flexible and easier to palm on his card manipulation videos.

______

At card trick central, there is a trick showing

you how to do the back palm but it is not

very clear for me. Are the cards supposed to be

behind your fingers, or the back of your hand?

Jeff McBride did a routine on wgm. But I think

some of the time he also showed the back of his

hand before he made the cards appear! How is

that done? I have an item in a catalog you can

order called, "deluxe card catcher" . Supposedly

you can show the front and back of your hand

and then catch a card out of air. Does anyone know

how this gimmick works. It is $5.
